The Shamrocks ( Shame Shame Shame )

-->Comments Are Welcome/Comentarios Son Bienvenidos<--

I'm Mad

Thanks for sharing this great LP !
But, sorry, the liner notes are wrong.
Actually they were a british band, and they did not release an EP in GB.
In 64 they were invited to play a month in the Eden Saloon in Berlin, Germany, beginning with the first of October. When they arrived, the owner of the club had already made a deal with the label Ariola, and within a month they recorded 14 songs, of which an LP and a single resulted (both being published in the beginning of 1965).
Of course they were ripped off, moneywise, but they toured a lot.
Their second and last single was published 1967.
(from the bible of German Beatmusik,"Shakin`all over" by H.J.Klitsch)
Best wishes, Joey

Realmente buenos.

Well, whom can you trust ??
I`d prefer to trust the author of the book I mentioned, because he spoke to hundreds of musicians, including Gary Cowtan, leadsinger of the Shamrocks.
And there is no entry for them in the book "Tapestry of Delight" by Vernon Joynson, simply because the records they made were only published outside of Britain.
And: Yes there is an original song on the LP: "What`s all this" from Gary Cowtan.

Actually there is a record they recorded in England, "Mr. Hardluck / What`s all this", but it`s a limited edition private demonstration record.

Their first single contains the two first songs of the LP, so you missed nothing.
The second "Crossbow / Midnight train" was also published in Switzerland (on Layola).

Hi Joey , This is an excerpt from the official website of The Shamrocks:( 1966 ging man auch wieder ins Studio um eine zweite Single "Crossbow/Midnight Train" aufzunehmen. Diese Single wurde von Drafi Deutscher produziert. Im selben Jahr begleiteten sie auch Cookie Burns, den Star aus der Serie "Seventy Seven Sunset Strip".).THIS IS THE TRANSLATION:1966 we also went back into the studio to record a second single, "Crossbow / Midnight Train" incorporated. This single was produced by Drafi Deutscher. In the same year she also accompanied cookie Burns, the star from the series "Seventy Seven Sunset Strip."

Ah, thank you, Roadrunner, it was 1966 for the second single then.
Drafi,as you surely know, was the guy of "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht"- fame ("Marble breaks and iron bends"), a huge hit in Germany.
Thanks !
Joey
