The Ones - (Ones!)
-->Comments Are Welcome/Comentarios Son Bienvenidos
Su interpretación de los covers eran tan buenos como las canciones originales...Este álbum contiene muy buenas versiones como (I Can't Explain) de The Who, (You're A Better Man Than I) The Yardbirds, (Hang On Sloopy) The McCoys o Be My Baby de The Ronettes. © Copyright

ALBUM:
1(A) THE ONES (Ashwood House AH-1105) 1966
This group originated in Unionville, Conn., and worked extensively in the Lake George/Albany NY, region, before taking up residence in Boston. They became known as one of the hottest outfits to come out of the city in the era, but success eluded them probably because they concentrated on cover songs rather than originals. Their album, nonetheless, is now a significant collectors' item and hasn't yet been reissued. For a taster of how they sounded you can find Didi-Wa-Didi on Pebbles, Vol. 13 (LP), Mister You're A Better Man Than I on Oil Stains (LP), and I Can't Explain on Psychotic Reactions (LP).
The album was recorded in NYC, and included one original, Maybe It's Both Of Us, written by the producer Clay Pitts. After its release, Sam DeSantos was recruited from Missing Links, who the band had met previously when working in Salisbury Beach, MA.
Jeff Costello:- "The Ones broke up in 1968. Jon Landau, who later became Bruce Springsteen's manager, reviewed our group in Crawdaddy, saying we were a "competent, soulful club band but not originaters." It was true."
Sam DeSantos and Rick McPherson later formed Atlantis in 1970 with legendary producer Bobby Herne.
